Many thanks to everyone who showed up on April 2nd to play paintball and raise money for New Horizons Group Home. With almost 100 people on site, and New Horizons Group Home Residents watching, the players braved rapidly deteriorating weather conditions to get in a morning of play for charity. The games were spirited, and played with many friends and airball players facing off against each other across the grassy fields. In the end, in just a few short hours, more than 50,000 paintballs filled the air for charity, and an awesome day of fellowship and support for charity concluded with exactly $2,000 raised for New Horizons (Should you be wondering, we actually raised $1,937, and a volunteer put the difference in to bring the number to an even 2K).
Although too many people to list helped make this game happen, we would be remiss not to thank four primary sponsors: Bay Life Church, Gideon & Greco Plumbing, Tiki’s Paintball, and Veterinary Center at Fishhawk. Bay Life provided the field at no cost, Tiki’s provided cheap paint and air, and the two businesses kicked in matching donations; without their support this event would not have been nearly as successful. WFC is also blessed with wonderful volunteers who make the whole event happen, from the time of registration, to lunch, to cleaning up, and everything else that occurs for a fun day of paintball for charity. Thank you for all you do to help the charities we support!
Our next fundraising event will be announced soon, so check back and thanks for helping Warriors for Christ and Country raise money for charity – this game sent the WFC total funds raised for charity to over $60,000!!!
